Family & Friends Shower

Being that we have been in remodel mode for the past who knows how long, I just haven't had the chance to upload the photos from the shower. On April 9th, I had my first shower for the boys and I was 26 weeks at this time. It was at the Lewisville Antique Gallery Tea Room, a little place called Sapphire's. Such a cute little place! This was also where I had my bridal luncheon 5 years ago, so it only seemed appropriate.

One of my best friends, Kristin, offered to throw me a shower back right when she found I was pregnant. We've been through it all together and I'm so thankful that she remains such a great friend to me. So she got to work arranging everything for the shower along with the other hostesses.

Kristin and I, not sure what's up with my squinty eye.

The sign in table (yes, there are two baby books) and hostess gifts.

The beautiful diaper cake which Martha Thetford made

The cupcakes for the sailboat themed party... the invitations said "Ahoy, it's two boys!" How cute!

The hostesses and I - sorry that Mary's face is mostly covered up. Thank you ladies for throwing such an excellent shower for Truett and Ellis. They are so blessed!!

My girlfriends from our Branch small group, I miss seeing these faces every week! Thank you all for coming to the shower, it's so good when we are all able to be together, even if it is for short periods of time!

Amy, my best friend from kindergarten. She and her mom made the trip for the boys shower. Couldn't have imagined it without her!

Getting ready to open the presents, it took almost an hour and half to open all of them.

One of my favorite presents, "My Brest Friend" double nursing pillow. Should be interesting. Looking forward to using it!

The baby bedding that my mom "made." She had them machine quilted and then she sewed the green binding around the edging. I can't wait to see what it looks like in the room, once it's all put together.

The "Easter Bunny," my dad, made an appearance at the party. Only appropriate since at my bridal luncheon which was around Christmas, he came as Santa. He was just getting his practice as the Easter bunny, since he has now worn the costume 2 more times since the shower.

And here's all the family that was there to represent the boys, Marsha, Ganky, Mom and Amy (standing), Mimi (GMIL), Kim (MIL), Dad, me and my sister (sitting). What blessed little boys they will be to come into this family!

It was a great weekend spent with lots of family time. I got a lot of presents and they have yet to be unloaded into the bedroom because there are still a couple of projects that need to be finished in that room.

I am now 27 weeks and 5 days. I just had a doctor appointment this afternoon, and it went well. I'm thankful for the reassurance that the doctor gives me. I will now see a doctor every week, whether it's mine or the specialist. I've been told to take it easy and drink lots of water. I'm trying my best to do that, though tonight was not the best night for that, since I was busy trying to get the house back in order after having our new carpet installed. Every week is an accomplishment, every day for that matter. I just keep praying that these babies stay in for as long as possible. ;-)

Hopefully I'll have another update this week with more progression of the boys room!
